News Sentiment

The News Sentiment tool provides real-time analysis of breaking news and its impact on individual currencies. Unlike the longer-term Market Sentiment indicator, News Sentiment captures immediate market-moving events and analyst commentary.

This tool processes news from major financial sources and provides a scored analysis of how this news impacts individual currencies. The goal is to give traders rapid insight into the impact of breaking news and analysis on the forex market, helping you stay ahead of sudden market moves.

News Sentiment Feed

The news sentiment feed displays recent articles with their impact assessment on specific currencies. Each article shows the affected currencies, sentiment direction (bullish/bearish), estimated impact strength, and key takeaways—allowing you to quickly digest important market developments.

Methodology & Data Sources

To provide a comprehensive view, we aggregate and analyze news from a growing list of prominent financial sources. These include global news wires like Reuters, in-depth analysis from major banks like ING, and financial market news from Bloomberg. The list of sources is expanding to ensure the most complete picture possible.

Analysis Process

The system automates the processing of news articles through several steps. First, only relevant forex articles are filtered from the broad stream of information. These articles are then analyzed and scored for their impact on specific, individual currencies.

After scoring, each article is categorized as bullish (positive) or bearish (negative) for a given currency. To provide further context, the analysis also includes the estimated impact (e.g., low, medium, high) and the time horizon (e.g., short-term, long-term) of the news. Finally, the system generates key takeaways for each article.

How to Use News Sentiment

The Sentiment Feed

Using the market sentiment feed, you can quickly see the key takeaways of an article and determine the immediate impact on the market. This allows you to react quickly to new information.

Quantified Visualization

In addition to individual articles, the news sentiment is also quantified and visualized. On both the Intrinsic Analysis and Cross-Pair Analysis pages, you will see a chart that displays the quantified progress of news sentiment over time. This helps you to identify trends in media coverage.

Cross-Pair News Sentiment

The visualization shows the sentiment distribution (bullish, bearish, neutral) for each currency, along with trend analysis over time. This allows you to quickly assess whether recent news coverage is strengthening or weakening the fundamental outlook.
